Actually, the US Dollar is declining due to the Fed interest rate cuts.
Congress controls spending, not the President.
More to do with paranoid, small-time, inexperienced investors, than anything else.

Actually, the president submits budgets to Congress. Finally, when the market swings wildly as it has recently, look to the behavior of large institutional investors. They are the controllers of large blocks of shares. What they decide moves markets, not small-time investors. They're just along for the ride, for the most part.

I'm talking about portable music players that store music with a hard drive or flash memory that are NOT the Apple iPod models. In that case, it's only the higher-end players that support the AAC format, unless you buy Sony's current Walkman line of portable music players.
And I'll add/paraphrase from those who defend Apple to the end.
The average consumer doesn't want to think about formats and codecs - they just want to download a song and listen to it on whatever device they want to.

You bring up a VERY good point. The US grows over 300 million metric tons of corn each year and we pack it into every softdrink. Even 'fruit' juices have more HFCS than actual fruit. Corn is poorly digested to begin with, and corn syrup definitely causes issues. The US also allows the usage of a few major chemicals in foods which the rest of the industrialized world, and a lot of the non industrialized world, stopped using years ago. Links of these chemicals to obesity is still being studied.

i wonder how you click, or make a selection. it would be pointless if you could scroll wothout touching the screen, but had to touch it in order to click on the scroll wheel.
Yeah, that is a good question. It would seem to be a very touchy thing to differentiate scrolling from clicking the buttons. Maybe they'll move back to the 3G interface with the separate buttons. It seems that it might feel a bit awkward to me to not receive any tactile feed back.
I'm excited to see what Apple comes up with.

If MobileMe is any indication, Apple just doesn't get cloud - if they plan on charging for it, Amazon is happy to take their business - they'll sell you plain mp3s for the boot!
Agreed. I can foresee this being another poorly made mobileme addon which is pure crap to use if you are outside the US (due to immensely slow network connectivity from Apple's servers).
Amazon will rule the cloud since they have been doing it for so long, and have multiple DC's in the US and Europe. Apple are at least 10 years behind here and will have a hell of a hard time getting to Amazons level.

The best indicator will be whether or not there's an April iOS event. If there isn't, that means previous years' schedules don't necessarily hold anymore. If WWDC is filled with iOS 5 and Lion news, it's possible iPhone 5 won't make an appearance.
However, it's also possible that the new features of iOS 5 are so tied in with iPhone 5 that they don't want to reveal one without the other. For instance, NFC capabilities.
The existence of an independent iOS event also depends on how necessary Apple deems it. Every year we see new features and a bunch of developers get up and squawk about their software. Is that really even necessary anymore? We know the app store rocks and people are making great apps for it.
There's no telling how it will shake out, but I'm not putting any stock in news and media outlets who live and die by page hits and people paying attention to them, especially when apple is notorious for seeding false rumors to plug leaks.
There was a recent announcement by Sony saying their deliveries to Apple for an 8MP camera would be delayed due to conditions in Japan. I've read other articles suggesting other iPhone components may be in short supply.
The disaster in Japan may have an impact on their release schedule. It might have been tight before, then the earthquake killed it.
It may be tied up to the iPad 2 as well. Supply is going to be choked for quite some time, and they share a lot of components even given their size differences. If apple prioritizes iPad 2 availability, it may make sense to them to delay iPhone 5 a bit. It's the best worst problem to have. They can sell so many units of whatever they make, they just have to decide which unit it's going to be of.

If you want functionality, then go use Windows. Most Mac users are designers and the look of something is just as important as functionality. Steve Jobs may love the look of his day planner, that doesn't mean I have to be stuck with it.

Even if Amazon has 69 cent songs, I will likely continue buying on iTunes. Over the past year, most music has been purchased on my iPhone while I am out. Can't do that with Amazon.
Blame The fact that Apple won't allow a competing service in it's market. On my Android phone I can use the Amazon mp3 app to purchase music, download it to my phone immediately or stream it from amazon. It goes into my Amaozon locker meaning I can go to any computer and download it there at any point in the future. Instant access from multiple devices, except my one iOS device.

I use pages exclusively as do all of the workers who are testing Apple at my business. After a short learning curve, everyone likes it and it is more than capable right now. You are really coming off as an Apple ball-buster. All I read from you is negative Apple. Are you collecting your checks from Redmond???

To be fair, the brushed metal interface first debuted in 1999 with Quicktime 4.0. Compared to the horrendous user interfaces of the time period, that looks amazing. It is sad though that it took them until leopard to get rid of it...

I'd just like the car I bought in February to be legal.
(college kid sold me a car with a restitution lien), this has screwed this whole year for me, i drive a beater I had to buy on 1 day notice and could die on me anyday. my goal this year was to get out of debt completely, I'm less than 500 away but now I have to come up with 1500 to get the car legal......for a car i paid 3k for. :(
So somehow I am trying to do this while being a single dad and put together a Christmas for my daughter :(
