cases?
Cases?
CASES?
WTF ... who uses cases? And who cares for cases?
If I look at people with their iphones, i see like less than 5% using anything on their phones. And all of them use the Apple bumper on some iphone 4. I've seen hundreds of iphones in the wild, but I still have to see one non-bumper case in the wild.
Grow up guys ...
P.S.: WTF does one use a case for? To make the phone THICKER? UGLIER?
In Boston, mostly everyone I know with an iPhone, including myself, uses a case. It's more surprising when you see someone NOT using a case.
I use a case so it doesn't get as damaged in my pocket, and in the event you drop the device, there may be some saving grace that it doesn't shatter the glass.

I helped a friend drive one of his two cars to the Georgia Tech Auto Show today. I have about 130 shots to go through, though only 35 which I like more than others. This one stood out to me the most for today's photo. It is a brave entry from a University of Georgia fan, complete with bulldog, brought to the Georgia Tech campus.

Hey, Bluetooth MM can operate on 1 or 2 AA batteries.
Does this mean we will get a longer battery live than the previous one?

Stay with Verizon and get yourself an Itouch ipod!
Hi,
I'm thinking of switching from Verizon to AT&T to get the iPhone. However, I'm hearing horror stories of up to 30% dropped calls in the NY area.
For all iPhone/AT&T users in northern NJ and NYC area, can you verify that you experience around 30% of dropped calls?? is this true??
http://gizmodo.com/5370493/apple-genius-bar-iphones-30-call-drop-is-normal-in-new-york
I want the iPhone, but not if it comes with such bad service!!
Thank you,

Of course I read the damn thing. Is it not clear from the report that the invention really is the proximity detector. Synaptics or whatever they are called already have advanced touch devices on the market, thats nothing new. Maybe the software side of things, ie. how to interpert the inputs is novel but really its the ability to "remote control" your ipod without anything but your bare hands.
By the way, just watched Superman Returns there, not too shabby!

April fools! Once this month and once a year ago.
Thank goodness for rad hardened Japanese paint!
I for one think the Apple experience with iPhone 3GS which is still being sold at retail, will encourage them to privately have iPhone 4 have a 3 year product life. If I were Apple I would hold off on iPhone 5 till 6-12 and deploy vetted and debugged LTE at that time. Let iPad 3 be LTE earlier with an upcharge.
Just me.

So many Mac users are completely ignorant and oblivious to the fact that their Mac is, contrary to popular belief, not that secure in some respects. Many Mac zealots and apologists will tout how bullet-proof OS X is, how it's nothing like Windows, how it's amazingly secure - well, it isn't in some cases.
Yep, Artie MacStrawman (http://www.crazyapplerumors.com/?p=664), I hate that guy.
Apple's response is, I think, much more important than the MOKB finding a handful of vulnerabilities in OSX, if they address the problem quickly and respond accordingly with a good Security Update, than I think we can still be relatively assured that OSX is safe. We'll also have to see how quickly various black-hats respond to Vista.

What a bunch on whining individuals you are.
"this belongs on page 2"
"enough of this, page 2"
Yeah, yeah, all we know now is that it's becoming increasingly clear that the next generation iPhone is scheduled for a September release, end of story
stop whining geez
Get busy living, or get busy waiting.

Hey u haven't seen the "200 new features". Just kidding. I'm with you. The only upgrade I paid for was from Jag to Panther, I wanted to use Expose. But I only got Tiger due to the fact that it came on new MBPs. This OS release hasn't shown anything that's really worth it.
So far, Leopard is something I'm not willing to pay for.
I expected just a little bit of a UI change, it just looks like a little updated version of Tiger.
I really wonder what these top secret features are because the current features aren't impressing me enough to open my wallet.

Interesting that the mac program at Best Buy is being expanded from seven to 50 stores, and a new pilot program at a few Circuit City stores. Must be seeing some success for Best Buy to be alotting floor space in more of their stores. :D

An interesting read in response to the kernel panic ability of the .DMG vulnerability:
http://alastairs-place.net/2006/11/dmg-vulnerability/
A very insteresting read.. most of which I only barely grasp. Object oriented programming just makes my eyes glaze thinking about it.. The gist:
i don't understand why everyone is ignoring this guys' post. i'm not a computer engineer, so can someone with the right knowledge explain this a bit more? is it really adware or just a bug? :)

It's possible but they better not do this (not release such a product). I WANT this.
I'm still not too sure how gestures would work to control such a device unless there was a camera.
Imagine you are in an airport trying to get your tablet to open up by swinging your arm up and down in front of your computer's camera.
Now that would be an invention...

are you running the console version? most people around here usually run that (i think) in terminal. that's what i do. and i'd advise that for you as well. that way, you just add "-bigadv" in the terminal command.
but i think you can do it in the other version as well. basically yes, all you need to add is "-bigadv"
You may need to set the unit size in config to "big", it wont take bigadv units if it is set to normal.

Lastly, I'm kinda bummed that I haven't made the narration yet.:(
Me too. Given the theme i was already picturing myself as the marquee artist of the production ;)
anyway, the situation right now is:
eldiablo: 4 (dontpanic, chrmjenkins, aggie, ucfgrad)
chrmjenkins: 1 (jav)
not voted yet: Lbro, eldiablo
not much room to maneouvre for eldiablo, except in deciding who to infect (if he hasn't done it already).
so tomorrow should be 4 vs 1 (or 5 vs 1 if the hunter is successful). with everyone with equal chances of being wolfized.
it's like starting a new game, a tricky one with two shots at finding the wolf

Watch, it probably really means it instantly voids the MS support part of the Vista purchase for that license.
Would be just peachy that Apple offers zero support for running Vista on a Mac, and MS does the same for those doing it via virtualization.
Probably forsee a support headache coming down the path. :p
That's what Paul Thurrott thought, too. (See his response above.)
In any event, Apple wouldn't support Windows running via any method on a Mac.
However, in the Boot Camp scenario, any support available from Microsoft with any version of Vista would still be available.
