Don't feel any real positive emotion out of it because of how long it took, and how the most damage of 9/11 came from our response in my opinion, but yay I guess? I don't believe he was very active in Al Qaeda anymore, and even if he was, he's an easy replacement.

I agree with both your points.

He will be easily replaced I guess... if Al Qaeda isn't already splintered so far that there's no leadership required.

The most significant effect of this will be on the psychology of the West, particularly in the US. Most of the negative effect of 'terrorism' has been inflicted by the US on itself.

It's amazing how people who hang out at a site dedicated to Apple don't really know anything about Apple R&D. This is so old news. But here for your edification:

    http://www.intel.com/technology/io/thunderbolt/index.htm

Take hard note of the sentence: "Developed by Intel (under the code name Light Peak), and brought to market with technical collaboration from Apple."

What's amazing is how you haven't provided a citation to match your earlier post :

TB was envisioned by Apple and then handed off to Intel for development and implementation.

So again, Citation needed. The citation provided does not indicate Apple envisionned TB, only that they collaborated with Intel on the project, which might or might not be after the fact that Intel envisionned the tech and not Apple.

Again, you state Apple basically came up with it, burden of proof lies on you for this. I don't think I've ever heard that about LightPeak until this thread. It always either was a joint venture or an Intel tech developed in collaboration with Apple.

Case Makers must be going crazy.

    First AT&T iPhone 4.
Next Verizon iPhone 4 (buttons moved)
Now AT&T White iPhone 4 and Verizon White iPhone 4 (thicker models).

Wonder if the Apple bumpers fit?

You have a point, but Apple didn't necessarily want an exclusive carrier. That does nothing for Apple's business. AT&T obviously paid for Apple's exclusivity.

Um.... I am pretty sure that Apple gets a higher subsidy from having an exclusive carrier agreement, lowering the cost to their customers, yet still keeping margins on the device high.

Someone to correct me if I am wrong.

People get beat up for no reason all the time. It doesn't have to do anything with bullying or the victim being a transgender. From what the victim said, the attackers used a standard "excuse" to start a fight. ("Why are you talking to my man?", if I understood correctly.)They said "Why are you talking to my man?" to a transgendered woman in a women's "restroom"?
    Does not compute.

Before this comes out, Apple is going to have to let consumers know that they make the iPod. Not Microsoft.

Some people may think it's the new iPod, judging by the picture on engadget, and this thread/article posted earlier (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=191119) saying that most people don't know the iPod is made by Apple.

If people think this 'Micropod' is the new iPod it could be over for Apple, unless they release something at the same time.

BTW, about the picture posted on engadget, the buttons look '3G iPodish'. Maybe Microsoft is going to try and play catch up with MP3 players now :p edit: missed bcharna's post

If you clear your cache and refresh, you'd see the image you are hotlinking to isn't displaying. ;)

Its just a low res image saying go to "my digital life".

Oh, I see. Yeah that's what I saw in the quote of my post but I saw the correct one in my original so I thought that worked. Haha huge fail on me trying to get a point across.
Oh well, if you don't know what the WMP play icon looks like, this one should work: http://cirruswinery.argh.se/dropbox/images.jpg

(BTW, there's a few good reasons I use Verizon.)

One of those reasons is that there is no AT&T signal at my house.

Not that I usually condone this type of thing... I want to do it because I have never built a computer before, and just because I can.

I'm hoping for cash for my i7 build for Christmas,I'm saving now and really want a better computer, but Mac is not coming anytime soon, then it hit me,I'm building a i7 pc of equal specs to a Mac Pro,it's hackintosh time!!

I'm going to ask a dumb question here: if the victim had already undergone the surgery, then how could the perpetrators know the victim was genetically male? I'm not trying to be snarky, but there's a logical disconnect, unless I'm missing something.

By some other aspect of her character I guess.

It is a dumb question (sorry). Female toilets only have stalls, so the victim's surgical status is moot.

Looks like you are your own team?
Where is the fun there? By joining us you can help a top 100 team and keep visibility if you are in the top 20 crunchers of a team. If you join a huge team, you have no visibility.

You can compete with team members...

    Check this:

    http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_summary.php?s=&t=3446

My criterias for being in a team are:
    - the team must be in the top 100 (dropped my old team because of that)
    - I must be a top 20 cruncher in that team
    - the team must be mac related

    Well said Snowy_River.

Very good point about tools. If two tools are suitable for a given job, then a "pro" will choose the lower cost tool. That is why the pro is in business.

I had forgotten that Word is bundled with MS Works, so of course it must by implication be a consumer application.

For what it's worth, I am just wrapping up a 2000+ page text/spreadsheet/template toolkit that includes 400+ pages of pdfs - all created using Pages. The longest pdf is around 90 pages, including a ToC.

i don't understand why everyone is ignoring this guys' post. i'm not a computer engineer, so can someone with the right knowledge explain this a bit more? is it really adware or just a bug? :)

I'll try to explain this: Someone can create a Disk Image File that is intentionally corrupt. They can put it on a webpage from where you could download it, and if you do that, Safari will try to mount the disk image file and then Things Go Wrong. But nothing at all can happen if you don't visit that webpage.

Now Apple can't do anything about that corrupted Disk Image File. The best that Apple can do is try to mount it, figure out that it is corrupted, and tell you that it is corrupted. This is what should have happened, it didn't happen, and that is a bug that Apple should fix. The question is: What damage can happen?

In this case, it has been examined, and the result is that there will be a Kernel Panic. That means your Macintosh will crash. Nothing else can possibly happen, the only possible result is a Kernel Panic. Sounds bad, but all that happens is that you have to restart your computer. About the same as if I unplugged the power cable of your Macintosh. The same thing will happen again if you try to mount the disk image again, or if you go to the same wegpage again. But you wouldn't do that, right? And if you visit the webpage again, you will learn quickly not to do that, right?

The important thing is, there is no security risk. Nobody can use this to install a virus or adware on your computer. They can use it to crash your computer - once if you are clever, twice if you are not quite so clever, but not more often. They can't do anything but crash the computer.

The people who own AAPL stock are not like you and me. I'd be shocked if they've even heard of Macworld. They don't use or own Apple computers, they just automatically buy whatever hot stock happens to have gone up this week. When it starts going down, they sell off. Tech stocks are especially prone to this kind of short-sighted selling. It's cold in New York, investors are selling in order to go on vacation. Simiple as that.

I own 957 shares and visit this site every day.

Give some thought to the Citizen, which I believe is one size larger. I do bike, but even on days when I don't, I appreciate having the extra space for my laptop and other various junk.

Nice to see the suite maturing like this. Pages 3 along with Charts will definitely make iWork 07 an improvement over the '06 version and a lot more solid of a suite in general.
